The Before
Ensoulment Doula’s site before their redesign.
Their website felt like a burden, an energetic weight that couldn’t be moved. They were struggling to execute their vision and knew it could be better. It needed to have the capacity to hold all of their work and the multiple facets of their brand.
My Approach
Three things guided me when as I redesigned Ensoulment Doula’s site:
Project feel: guiding their visitor through the underworld
Project mood: holy darkness, evocative, sovereign, and disruptive
Business and personal astrological birth charts
Explore how these informed my design decisions.

Ensoulment Doula’s color palette consisted of purples and teals, but we felt that those colors didn’t meet the project feel and mood. They were ready to lay those colors to rest, and welcome in an entirely new palette.
This new palette was inspired by their Venus in Cancer conjunct moon trining their Scorpio Ascendant. Depth, darkness, contrast, and softness. That deep blue and striking yellow is an offering to this placement. -
I knew Samar had a few hand drawn illustrations and sigils, and I was so excited they said yes to sprinkling them throughout their site. These drawings are deeply symbolic and transport the website visitor into Ensoulment Doula’s world and adds an evocative and disruptive experience. The spinning animation is guiding the visitor into the underworld.

It’s so important that we see a reflection of ourselves in our brands, including our websites. I really wanted Samar to stand out on their site, and sometimes placing an image lacks visual interest on a web page. The cut out images of Samar adorned by flowers, and an occasional sigil, expresses sovereignty.

The simple layout and the lavender grey website frame is a nod to Samar’s natal Venus in Capricorn.
The scrolling story telling that is featured on a couple of web pages is an offering to Ensoulment Doula’s Venus in Cancer conjunct their moon trining their Scorpio Ascendant. This captured the holy darkness mood of their site as well.
The Impact
Their site’s bounce rate decreased by 25%, they received more inquiries about their work, an increase in folx reaching out to connect, and more bookings. Lastly, their site feels energetically aligned with their brand. Which is what we set out to accomplish.
